A few vendors will be selling a variety of items, so if you'd like to purchase something, bring some cash.
What should I bring with me?
You should bring a water bottle and a yoga mat. If you do not have your own yoga mat, you can rent one at the Yogathon for $2. Make sure that when you register you let us know you need a mat so we can be sure to have enough available. You may want to bring some extra money in case there are vendors selling something you want. We will have free snacks and drinks available for all participants, but if you have any dietary restrictions, you should bring your own snacks. back to top

How should I raise the funds to reach my goal?
The easiest and fastest way to raise funds is through our registration site. After you click here to register, you can set up a fundraising page that allows you to easily email all of your friends and family.
What is a team and how do I create one?
You are welcome to participate as an individual, but you may also choose to join or form a team (of two or more members). This can be a team of coworkers, fellow students, friends, or family members. Each team member pays the $20 registration fee.
Teams will compete to raise the most money for TWI's programs in low-income schools, and the team that raises the most funds will win great prizes.
Businesses, schools, and organizations that form teams of five or more individuals are eligible to become sponsors of the Yogathon. And because we appreciate our sponsors so much, we will gratefully acknowledge our sponsors at the event, on our website, in our newsletter, and on Facebook.
To form or join a team:
1. Register as an individual and set up your individual fundraising page.
Then, send an email to your friends, family, and colleagues to ask them to support you and TWI.

If I joined a team but changed my mind and now want to participate as an individual, what do I do?
If you would like to leave your team or join a different one, just log into your account and click on "Change team" on the right side of the page.
Who is the team leader?
The team leader is the person who created the team. The team leader's role is to recruit, inspire, and motivate people to register, as well to as raise funds. To promote team participation, the team leader should distribute materials to all potential participants and then encourage participants to register and begin garnering pledges.
How can I keep track of who's on my team and how much money we've raised?
Go to your team page. (If you don't know the website address you can click here to find it.) Just type in your team's name where it says "Want to donate?" in the top right corner. Once you're on your team page, click on "Join this team" on the right side of the page. You will then see a list of your team members and information about the funds they've raised.
How can I raise money and meet my goal?
First of all, set a personal fundraising goal. Then develop a fundraising plan that will enable you to meet your goal. There are many ways to reach out to your potential donors. Decide which one works best for you and each donor. Remember, every dollar you raise makes a positive impact on the lives of the students we teach.
Below are a few suggestions to help you succeed in your fundraising campaign.
The easiest way to raise funds is by setting up a fundraising page through our registration system. Click here to get started. When you register for the Yogathon, you get your own personal account on the Yogathon website. Included in this account is your very own pledge page, which can be viewed by your supporters.
It's ideal if you customize the default text on the page with your own personal message; let it reflect your dedication to the mission of The Wellness Initiative or your strong belief in the transformative powers of yoga. Tell everyone why you are participating in the Yogathon and ask them to make a donation toward your fundraising goal. For an example, click here.
When you're ready to begin soliciting pledges, customize the default donor email template or write your own. Recipients will receive an email with your name, your message, and a direct hyperlink to your personal pledge page. Remember, the more emails you send, the more potential donors you'll get to visit your pledge page to contribute toward your goal.
Your donors can make secure, online credit card donations through your pledge page where they can specify a single amount to donate. The pledge page will direct your donors to a secure web page where they can enter their payment information. It takes just a few minutes, and they instantly receive an email receipt for their tax records. It's that easy!
It's also helpful to promote your personal pledge page as much as you can. You can include a link to your page in your email signature, on your Facebook page, or in your tweets. Your supporters can also find your pledge page through the Yogathon site, by entering your name where it says "Enter a friend's name" on the right side of the page.
Also, remember that people want to help, but people also get busy. They will appreciate a reminder from you!
Reaching your fundraising goal is easy if you break it down into smaller amounts.
. Ask 5 friends to pledge $10 each = $50
. Ask 3 coworkers to pledge $20 each = $60
. Ask 2 family members to pledge $25 each = $50
. Ask 2 businesses you patronize to pledge $50 each = $100
If you would rather gather check and cash donations offline, you can use our pledge form. Download it here.

How can my friends find my donor page?
When you send an email to solicit pledges, the link to your individual fundraising page will automatically be included in the bottom of the email. Also, your supporters can find your pledge page through the main Yogathon site by entering your name where it says "Enter a friend's name" on the right side of the page.
How can I see who has donated and how much they have donated?
Go to the Yogathon registration site and click on "My account" in the top right corner. Then sign into your individual account using your email address and password. You can then view your full donation report, which includes the names of your donors and the amount of money each has contributed.
I forgot my user ID/password.
No problem. Just click on the "Forgot password" link and enter your email address. We will then send you an email with your password. If you still have problems, please contact support@firstgiving.com or 877-365-2949.
Why are only the online donations showing up on my web page?
If you receive cash or check donations, you can update your page to reflect those donations by logging in to your account and clicking on "Update" under the "Offline donations" on the right side of the "Fundraising Pages" tab.
Why are some online donations not showing up on my web page?
If someone said they wanted to remain anonymous or did not want the amount of their donation to be shown or known, you will not see it.
Do I have to raise $108 in pledges to participate?
Absolutely not. TWI relies on charitable donations and we appreciation any fundraising help you can offer. However, we don't want anyone to miss this exciting event because they are unable to raise $108 in pledges.
My question is not listed here. How can I get the answer?
Please email us your question and our team will be happy to answer it for you. Contact us at info@wellnessinitiative.org.
