Tools for Teachers

We offer two-hour Tools for Teachers (TFT) workshops to provide classroom teachers with yoga-based techniques (conscious breathing, basic yoga poses, and simple movement games and visualizations).

All activities are designed for the classroom by Yoga Ed.; they require no extra equipment or space; and they take only 5 to 15 minutes to complete. We have reached more than 500 classroom teachers directly through TFT workshops and over 8,000 students indirectly by providing their teachers with new tools. Our TFT workshops give us the opportunity to affect entire school communities, not just individual students. Through evaluations, we have learned the following about the impact of our TFT workshops:

  • 100% of the participants would recommend TFT workshops to other educators.
  • The average overall usefulness of the TFT workshop was rated at 9.0 on a scale of 1 to 10.
  • Within a few weeks of the TFT workshops, 90% of participants had utilized breathing exercises and 75% had used yoga poses in their classrooms.
  • As a result of their workshop participation, 69% said they manage their own stress better, 69% said students are more focused, and 77% said students are calmer.

 

Cost: The Tools for Teachers workshops cost $350. This package includes two hours of instruction for up to 40 school staff members; one manual; and one deck of yoga cards. We also offer follow-up classroom visits to help classroom teachers make immediate use of their new tools. These follow-ups are generally 20 minutes in length and cost $25 per 20-minute classroom visit.
