Volunteer
Passionate and committed volunteers play an important role at The Wellness Initiative. We are always looking for volunteers in the Boulder and Denver areas. Some of our volunteers help by assisting our yoga instructors in the classrooms, while others assist with a variety of projects focused on building an impactful and sustainable organization. If you are drawn to our mission, then we would love the opportunity to speak with you about becoming a volunteer. For more information, please contact our program director, Kristi Gall, at kristi@wellnessinitiative.org.
We ask that all of our classroom volunteers be experienced yoga practitioners or even certified yoga instructors. We also require any volunteer who is working directly with students to complete a background check before beginning a volunteer commitment.
“It has been a privilege to have the opportunity to volunteer with TWI yoga instructor, Amy [Andrews-McMaster]. She does such an amazing job connecting with her students and creating a safe place for the magic of yoga to occur. Even the most resistant of kids seem to find a moment of stillness in savasana — a gift that they can draw upon throughout the day as the stress of life creeps back in. Thanks!”
— Britton (former TWI volunteer at KIPP Middle School)
“After living abroad for 19 years in the Netherlands, and then moving back to my hometown of Denver, I wanted to become involved with yoga and my community. TWI's involvement in schools has been a great opportunity for me to reach out with yoga in the community. The children give me a whole new perspective on how energizing and playful yoga can be. I'm so glad to be volunteering for TWI!”
— Anna (former TWI volunteer at Brown Elementary School)
